Teamwork is the key to success, and Susan, Rachel and Melanie demonstrate this every day at Ohio Living Quaker Heights. Their dedication as dynamic administrative professionals is invaluable, and we’re so thankful for all they do!
“Elder care found me,” explained Susan, an administrative assistant at Ohio Living Quaker Heights. “Eight years ago, I was working in the private sector and received a phone call about an available receptionist position. I interviewed and accepted the role, and right away, I fell in love with the residents. The interactions we have are so meaningful! It’s a privilege to work with some great people who share the same passion of making a difference in the lives of older adults.”
Being part of the process that helps set new employees up for success is a work highlight for fellow administrative assistant Rachel.
“I absolutely love helping people when they need it,” expressed Rachel. “What makes Ohio Living Quaker Heights special is the strong sense of community and connection here.”
Melanie, another administrative professional on campus, was inspired to pursue a senior living career because of her love for her grandparents.
“I have wonderful memories of the time we shared,” Melanie elaborated. “As I got older, I continued to love elders and wanted to spend more time with them. I think getting older is very challenging with all the changes that can occur; not all of them are easy. I try my best to offer comfort and support to anyone who may need it. Quite often, it is just a listening ear and caring heart that makes the difference.”
Melanie also shared, “I am surrounded by people who care and want to make our residents' lives better in any way they can. When I see a staff member show genuine concern and love toward a resident, it makes my heart sing. This is what makes our community here at Ohio Living Quaker Heights unique. I absolutely love working here!”
