Ohio Living Home Health & Hospice is thrilled to announce the fulfillment of a Make It Happen wish for a hospice patient whose final request was to set sail on Buckeye Lake. Thanks to the generosity of Buckeye Lake Marina and the seamless transportation provided by Courtesy Ambulance, the patient, his wife and daughter enjoyed a beautiful day on the lake together.

Under a canopy of clear skies, the patient and his family embarked on a serene boat ride, setting course for a day of tranquility on the water. As the boat glided effortlessly over the sparkling waters of Buckeye Lake, the patient, sporting his red “I’m the Captain” T-shirt, beamed with joy, basking in the warmth of the sun while at times commanding the boat to “go faster.”

The patient’s daughter, who joined him on the journey, shared, “This is the most I’ve seen Dad smile in a long time.”

For this Make It Happen event, Buckeye Lake Marina graciously donated the boat and adventurous captain for the patient’s day on the lake, allowing him to experience the joy of being back on the water one last time. Their crew ensured every detail was perfect and memorable, allowing the patient to enjoy the natural beauty of the lake from the comfort of the boat.

Additionally, Courtesy Ambulance provided smooth transport for the patient, ensuring he arrived safely on the dock and was comfortably situated aboard the vessel. Their dedication to the patient’s well-being was evident as they played an integral role in making this day a reality.

Ohio Living Home Health & Hospice is committed to making dreams come true, even in the final chapters of life. Make It Happen® is a program that brings special moments of joy and meaning to those nearing the end of their lives by fulfilling their life-enhancing wishes. Each moment is unique and personal: It can be larger than life, like a hot air balloon ride, or a simple wish for family at a distance to come together one last time.
