After growing up on a farm in South Dakota and later in a small town in Iowa, Carole followed her love of music to the University of Dayton. It was there that she met her husband of 57 years, David. Together, they raised three children, Carmen, Tony and Nicole.
Although Carole sang opera in college, she discovered a passion for teaching and spent more than 40 years as a music educator. She also served on the Ohio Music Education Board for 10 years, advocating for music education and the opportunities it provides students.
Carole and David moved from Centerville, Ohio, to Lakewood Ranch, Florida, after retiring in 2007. When David's health declined, they chose to move to an independent living community. Following his passing last year, she returned to Ohio to be closer to her children.
"I love the Ohio Living Mount Pleasant community, as it affords me independence in a beautiful neighborhood," she shared. "My children know that I am happy and well cared for. I am looking forward to spending the rest of my life in this community.”
In her free time, Carole enjoys sewing, reading, playing cards and singing. Music remains an important part of her life!
