March 2026 Ohio Living Student Spotlight: Lilly - Finding Confidence and Connection Through Service -

For many students, a part-time job is simply a way to earn extra money. For Lilly , it has been an opportunity to grow, build meaningful relationships, and discover the value of connection.

Lilly is a student at Waynesville High School and has been part of the team at Ohio Living Quaker Heights for nearly two years, working as an activities assistant. In her role, she helps create engaging opportunities for residents to stay active, social, and connected. But for Lilly, the most meaningful part of the job goes far beyond planning activities.

“The thing that I enjoy most about working here is the connections I make with the residents,” Lilly says. “I enjoy talking with everyone, working in such an uplifting atmosphere, and being around such amazing people.”

Those daily interactions have shaped her experience in ways she didn’t expect. Through conversations, shared laughter, and simply spending time with residents, Lilly has gained confidence and learned important life lessons about empathy and positivity.

“Working at Quaker Heights, I have come out of my shell and learned to be myself,” she explains. “I’ve experienced how important it is to always carry a positive attitude and how important it is to make sure everyone is seen and valued.”

That perspective is something she carries with her each day as she supports residents and listens when someone needs a friendly conversation or a moment of connection. For Lilly, being able to lend an ear and brighten someone’s day is one of the most rewarding parts of her role.

Looking ahead, Lilly plans to attend a four-year university after graduating from Waynesville High School, where she hopes to study medical imaging technology. Her experience at Ohio Living Quaker Heights has already given her a strong foundation for a future in healthcare—one built on compassion, communication, and a genuine desire to help others.

Team members like Lilly remind us that meaningful care comes from people who see the value in every individual. Through her work, she continues to make a positive impact on residents while also discovering her own path forward.

At Ohio Living Quaker Heights, it’s team members like Lilly who help create the warm, welcoming environment that residents call home.
