Ohio Living Home Health & Hospice Community Enrichment Services continued its mission to provide educational and cultural opportunities for older adults, caregivers and healthcare professionals throughout October. The program supports holistic well-being by fostering intellectual engagement and social connection for individuals across the greater Youngstown area.
Throughout the month, community members collaborated with Youngstown State University students on a mural now on display at the Butler Institute of American Art through Jan. 9, 2026. Read more in this story published by The Business Journal.
Educational events included a Town Hall discussion focused on screening and early treatments for Alzheimer’s disease, which provided attendees with current information and strategies related to early detection. Community members also enjoyed a guest presentation by Dr. Greg Ferro at the Jewish Community Center of Youngstown, titled “Baby Boomers Take the Presidency.”
Community engagement remained a key focus with participation in the Walk to End Alzheimer’s on Youngstown State University’s campus, supporting awareness and fundraising efforts for Alzheimer’s research. The annual “Listening to Loss” hospice workshop offered a daylong forum for professional development and reflection.
Closing out the month, the Cohasset Express Autumn Trolley Tour in Mill Creek Park provided community members a festive opportunity to enjoy the fall season and strengthen community ties.
