The Ohio Living Silver Heart Award, which originated in 2020, honors best-in-class teammates living our values! This year’s theme, Trustworthy, honors those who embody reliability, honesty and accountability. At Ohio Living Home Health & Hospice – Greater Columbus, Amber was nominated for her heart of service.
“In the three years I’ve worked with Amber, she has shown integrity and trustworthiness as a coworker and in patient care,” one nominator shared. “She does the right thing even when no one is looking, and her behind-the-scenes work lightens the load for the whole team. When Amber says she’ll be there, the hospice team can bet the house on it.”
As an LPN, Amber balances multiple responsibilities, from hospice visits to triaging weekend phone calls and supporting the office, often working independently to ensure every task is completed. Her colleagues liken her reliability to the comforting consistency of a strong cup of morning coffee.
The biggest fans of Amber’s work, however, are the families she serves. Many remember her by her legendary bright yellow rubber boots, a cheerful signature that brings a splash of sunshine into every room. Amber is the “boot wearing embodiment of an employee the Silver Heart Award was made to honor.”
