The Ohio Living Silver Heart Award, which originated in 2020, honors best-in-class teammates living our values! This year’s theme, Trustworthy, honors those who embody reliability, honesty and accountability. At Ohio Living Home Health & Hospice – Greater Akron, Daphne is the very definition of that word.
“It does not matter what needs to be done, Daphne is always willing and able to do it,” one nominator shared. “She is trusted by all.”
The Ohio Living Home Health & Hospice team depends on Daphne, who works as a volunteer coordinator, to ensure patients are supported by volunteers when they need them most. If there is a payroll question or IT issue, she is often the first call. As one teammate put it, “If something isn’t working, call Daphne…she fixes it.”
Beyond her technical knowledge and organizational skills, Daphne’s trustworthiness shines in her interactions with others. She is often the friendly, helpful voice on the phone for patients and families, conveying information quickly and accurately. Her kindness extends to new employees as well, helping them feel supported from day one.
One colleague, who has known Daphne for more than 32 years, reflected on her unwavering character. “Her values have not changed through all these years. She is faithful, honest, hard-working, authentic and a true joy to work with.”
