Long-Term Care Administrators Week Spotlight: Christine Smith

Translating Ohio Living’s mission into action every day is a joy for Christine Smith, the executive director of Ohio Living Home Health & Hospice - Greater Toledo. Bringing a strong background in post-acute care center operations and community life plans, she joined the Ohio Living team two-and-a-half years ago.

“There are many things that are rewarding about my position,” shared Christine. “I enjoy overseeing the care and services our staff provides to clients, residents, families and community members. Mentoring and developing others is also a highlight. It’s fulfilling to be part of an organization that supports growth and strategically forecasts the needs of our community and state.”

In Christine’s opinion, healthcare is a top-tier field for anyone looking to build a satisfying career. “To be able to help those in need is the best sense of purpose that anyone can experience,” she digressed. “Knowing you provided someone with the care to get them through a challenging time is unmatched. I would not change what I do for anything else.”

In her personal time, Christine prioritizes spending time with her family and their animals. The Smiths stay busy by traveling, playing sports, attending concerts, reading and other fun-filled activities.
