Helping patients remain in their homes and receive the high-quality care they deserve, whether to regain independence or a find new way to do things, is a driving motivation for Danelle Villers, executive director of Ohio Living Home Health & Hospice - Greater Akron. For more than nine years, she has worked with Ohio Living Home Health & Hospice and Ohio Living Palliative Medicine across the state.
A key aspect of Danelle's leadership style is her consistent recognition of staff and a focus on fostering a family-like atmosphere in the workplace. “By focusing on building relationships through listening, empathy, clear communication and respecting individual needs, we are able to provide timely support and guidance to each other and those we serve,” said Danelle. “Actively seeking feedback to continually improve our quality of care is another important piece of the puzzle.”
Danelle’s passion for excellence extends beyond her professional life, as demonstrated by her impressive achievement of completing the Berlin Marathon in under three-and-a-half hours. Impressively, she also ran the Burning River Run, which is a 100-mile endurance run from Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, to Silver Springs Park and back.
On the home front, Danelle has been married for 28 years to her wonderful husband, Rich. They have one adult daughter, Caitlin, who is a pediatrician, small business owner and artist. Three fur babies, Samantha, Spencer and Stanley, round out the Villers family.
