Sarah Hadley, the executive director of Ohio Living Home Health & Hospice - Greater Youngstown and Greater Cleveland, believes everyone brings something unique and valuable to her team. She has served in a host of roles with Ohio Living for almost 15 years and is also a certified grief informed professional and end-of-life doula.
While she no longer cares directly for clients or families, Sarah’s background is in nursing, and she loves to serve staff who do. “I feel blessed to create jobs and serve our community with people who truly make a difference,” Sarah elaborated. “I value teamwork and feel that together, our unique gifts create cumulative strength and confidence. I encourage everyone to be an expert in their role and love encouraging leadership in all capacities.”
From Sarah’s perspective, working in healthcare is similar to committing to military service. “We need you and appreciate your dedication to help others,” she urged. “You must be willing to serve a greater purpose, commit to that purpose even when difficult, devote yourself to others faithfully and fully, and maintain a high level of professional standards. If you do that, you will have a beautiful opportunity to change the lives of others.”
Beyond work, Sarah is married to her high school sweetheart, Mark, and they have three grown children, Isaac, Caleb and Grace. Isaac, their oldest, graduated from Ashland University last year and works as a project manager for Ryan Homes. Caleb, their middle child, is studying business/marketing at Youngstown State University, where he also plays college baseball. He recently hit his first college homerun! Grace notably followed in her mother’s footsteps and is pursuing a nursing career while working as an aide at Ohio Living Westminster-Thurber.
The Hadleys have two bulldogs, May and Zeke, and are trying to figure out the “empty nest” stage of life, even taking on some recent home improvement projects. Sarah also loves to read and get lost in a good book. “I absolutely love the first sip of coffee in the morning and when it is quiet enough to read the Bible without distractions…my day just seems to start better,” she noted.
