March is Social Work Month, and we are shining a light on two incredible Ohio Living Mount Pleasant team members, Renee and Phil, who bring the heart of social work into everything they do! While their official titles may not say social worker, their expertise and compassionate approach makes a world of difference for our residents and their families.
At Ohio Living Mount Pleasant, we know that moving to a senior living community is a big transition. Having professionals with a background in social work who are working in key roles helps to provide an extra layer of support. From guiding families through the process to ensuring our residents feel at home, Renee and Phil’s knowledge, empathy and problem-solving skills make our community stronger.
As the director of social services on campus, Renee provides resources, such as private duty care and home care, to residents. She also helps navigate next steps, such as assisted living or the need for rehab, and advocates for them, so they can live their best lives.
Building trust with those she serves is also important to Renee, so the residents know she has their best interests at heart. “I love my job,” said Renee. “Helping the residents, hearing their stories and seeing them smile is so rewarding.”
Phil makes a difference as a resident services coordinator. “Every single day of my job is different, and that is what I appreciate,” explained Phil. “The fact that you never know what is going to come your way keeps me engaged, and whatever does come, I am ready to help. I have a passion for helping others.”
Whether it's offering emotional support, connecting families with resources or advocating for residents in healthcare, these team members truly embody the spirit of social work. Thank you for all you do to make our community a warm, welcoming place our residents get to call home!
