Helping residents thrive is at the center of Maria’s work as the RN, MDS Coordinator at Ohio Living Llanfair, where she guides care planning and supports individual goals.
“As the MDS Coordinator and a member of the interdisciplinary team at Ohio Living Llanfair, my goal is to help move all residents toward their safest, most independent level of functioning while ensuring their needs are met,” Maria shared. “This looks different for every individual, but when we work together with residents and their families to establish goals, the result is coordinated care that creates a lively vibrant community.”
In her role, Maria manages required assessments for bothnew and long-term residents, ensuring compliance with federal and stateregulations, while keeping the focus on each resident as an individual. Thoughmuch of her work happens behind the scenes, its impact is felt daily throughconsistency and quality coordination of care.
When asked what advice she would offer to thoseconsidering a career in healthcare, Maria points to purpose. “Find what youlove,” she said. “There is always room for new healthcare professionals, buthealthcare can be stressful. When you are working in a field and with a groupof people you truly enjoy, you are more likely to thrive and find fulfillmentover the long term. Healthcare is, after all, a calling.”

She isthe proud mother of two sons, stepmother to four adult stepchildren andgrandmother to seven grandchildren. She also values the time she spends helpingher mother and mother-in-law and staying connected with her siblings andextended family who live nearby.
