Some of life's greatest adventures begin with a simple act of faith. For Karen Couch, that faith has guided a life rich with family, friendship, and unforgettable experiences.
Karen met her husband while they were still in high school, beginning a love story that would span 52 years of marriage. Together, they built a family that remains her greatest source of pride and joy. Today, Karen is the proud mother of three children—one son and two daughters—as well as grandmother to 10 grandchildren and great-grandmother to 11 great-grandchildren.
Family has always been at the center of Karen's life. Whether gathering for celebrations, sharing milestones, or simply spending time together, she treasures the memories she has made with the people she loves most.
Professionally, Karen spent many years working as an administrative assistant at Wilmington College, where she enjoyed helping others and supporting the college community. Outside of work, she and her husband embraced adventure. One of their favorite pastimes was motorcycling together, taking road trips across the country and creating memories along the way. Among her favorite adventures was a two-and-a-half-week journey through the Badlands, a trip she remembers fondly for its beautiful scenery and sense of freedom.
Karen's life philosophy can be summed up in a simple but powerful piece of advice: "Walk by faith, not by sight." It is a message that has carried her through life's joys and challenges and continues to inspire those around her.
Many people may be surprised to learn that Karen was once the runner-up for Miss Teen Ohio Cincinnati during her sophomore year of high school. While she appreciates the accomplishment, she is quick to point out that her true achievements are found in the family she helped raise and the generations that followed.
Today, Karen enjoys life at Ohio Living Quaker Heights, where she has formed meaningful friendships and enjoys the welcoming community atmosphere. When asked what she enjoys most about living here, her answer is simple: the friends she has made.
For anyone considering a move to a senior living community, Karen highlights two qualities that stand out at Ohio Living Quaker Heights: a clean environment and a variety of engaging activities that help residents stay active and connected.
Karen's story is a reminder that a life built on faith, family, and friendship creates a legacy that spans generations. We are honored to have her as part of the Ohio Living Quaker Heights family.
