Compassion and dedication define Emily’s role as the director of nursing at Ohio Living Quaker Heights, where she has been guiding the clinical team since August 2025.
“My focus is ensuring our residents receive compassionate and high-quality care every day,” Emily shared. “I lead the clinical team with a commitment to resident-centered care, teamwork and creating a supportive environment where both residents and staff can thrive.” Her work includes overseeing all nursing services, mentoring staff, ensuring regulatory compliance and collaborating closely with the interdisciplinary team to promote the best clinical outcomes.
Emily’s department plays a critical role at Ohio Living Quaker Heights. By promoting infection prevention and quality improvement, her team helps reduce hospitalizations and contributes to overall community health and safety.
The most rewarding part of Emily’s work is fostering growth in her staff. “Being a part of developing healthcare professionals and empowering their growth in skill and career is incredibly fulfilling,” she said. “The care they provide makes all the difference in a resident’s comfort and dignity.”
Outside of work, Emily is a devoted mom to an energetic eight-year-old boy and a five-year-old German Shepherd named Bingo. She enjoys cooking and crafting in her spare time.
When asked what advice she would give to those considering a career in healthcare, Emily said, “Your presence as a healthcare professional means so much. Often, it’s not the treatment that helps people the most. Instead, it’s the way you listen, explain or simply sit with someone. The smallest moments of care can have a lifelong impact.”
