Joseph joined the Ohio Living Llanfair team in June, and he oversees housekeeping, laundry, maintenance, security and transportation on campus, as the director of environmental services.
“Our team supports residents’ daily needs, as well as enables day-to-day operational functions,” explained Joseph. “By doing so, we help to make their experience more home-like. Ohio Living Llanfair isn’t just a senior living facility, it’s a life-giving home, where residents are surrounded by people who care, can help and extend love.”
When asked about the best parts of his job, Joseph is quick to credit his interactions with the residents. He especially loves to see the smiles on their faces after his team has resolved an issue. “To be able to bring joy, during what might be a difficult time in life, makes me realize I am doing what I am supposed to be doing,” he added.
He also expressed that working in the healthcare field is very rewarding, noting that older adults have so much to offer those in their path. “I love it; I love being here and part of their lives,” he said. “Just because one enters a senior living facility, it doesn’t mean that their life is over. We as caretakers simply come in and help them to carry on with their next chapter.”
On a personal note, Joseph has been happily married for 28 years, and he and his wife are parents to seven children and three grandkids. His favorite hobbies include family time, supporting his grandchildren’s sporting events and reading. “My family brings me total joy,” he emphasized.
