Ohio Living Foundation Workforce and Community Liaison

A new role, Workforce and Community Liaison, has been established at Ohio Living Quaker Heights in Waynesville, Ohio. It is focused on supporting workforce development and connecting with people and organizations who share Ohio Living’s mission of compassionate care.

Paula, who brings more than 20 years of patient care experience, assumed the role on July 7, 2025. After two decades working as a physical therapist assistant, she felt called to serve in a new capacity and returned to college to earn her master’s degree in leadership development from Wright State University.

“After spending many years in outpatient care, it became clear that opportunities for advancement were limited,” explained Paula. “I have always been passionate about servant leadership, and this new role offers the chance to grow professionally, while continuing to make a meaningful impact.”

Paula’s transition into this role was also influenced by personal experiences.

“A close friend’s journey through breast cancer inspired the creation of a nonprofit organization, Think Pink, which we co-founded,” she shared. “Through that experience and ongoing volunteer work, it became clear that my passion for helping others could be realized in a new way.”

Since starting with the team, Paula has initiated more than 25 new connections across the Waynesville community. Some of her efforts have focused on developing pipelines for students interested in healthcare careers, while also strengthening connections with STEM educators and local leaders. She has also focused on increasing workforce readiness and community engagement, through efforts like the second annual Royal Court of Quaker Heights pageant and pursuing clinical training opportunities with local colleges.

“As I’ve learned more about Ohio Living and its commitment to supporting staff, my appreciation for the organization has continued to grow,” added Paula. “This role aligns perfectly with my professional goals and values.”
