The Ohio Living Silver Heart Award, which originated in 2020, honors best-in-class teammates living our values! This year’s theme, Trustworthy, honors those who embody reliability, honesty and accountability. At Ohio Living Sarah Moore, Gwen was nominated for her steady presence.
For more than 16 years, Gwen has supported residents and staff through her role in the laundry department. Though she is quiet and reserved by nature, her impact is anything but small. Gwen doesn’t seek recognition or the spotlight. in fact, her team shared that she was genuinely surprised by this nomination. Instead, she simply shows up each day and does the work with consistency and care.
“Gwen is as steady as they come,” one nominator shared. “She never looks for compliments. She just takes care of what needs to be done.”
In a department where dependability is essential, Gwen is known for adjusting her schedule and even coming in on her days off to ensure laundry services remain uninterrupted. Her reliability gives others confidence that residents’ needs will be met without hesitation.
“Gwen takes great pride in her work and will often pick up other duties to help the housekeeping team,” shared her nominator. “There are many mornings that she will begin her day tidying up the employee break room, which is much appreciated by her fellow co-workers. Gwen sets a great example and works hard to serve our residents.
