May 2025 Employee Spotlight: Cayla L

For the past eight years, Cayla has brought compassion, dedication and heart to her role as a nightshift nurse for the long-term care and rehabilitation units at Ohio Living Cape May.

The most rewarding thing about my job is making a difference with the residents,” expressed Cayla. “I love seeing them laugh and smile, especially the rehab guests, as they start to feel better and improve in function! I try to remember little details about each person and use these observations to make them feel more comfortable at Ohio Living Cape May.”

Cayla’s advice to anyone entering healthcare: take the time to learn every role; it makes teamwork stronger and care even better. “It is important to know about each position,” she elaborated. “When you can collaborate across departments and positions, it makes your job better.”

Outside of work, Cayla is a proud pet parent to 10 (yes, 10!) furry friends. She is also very close with her nephew, and spending time with him brings her great joy!
