Rev. Chris White embodies a spirit of stewardship. As an ordained minister in the Presbyterian Church (USA), she takes seriously the charge to serve wherever called, a commitment that has guided both her ministry and professional life.
Rev. White’s connection to Ohio Living began long before joining the Ohio Foundation Board. “Even before my ordination, I found myself drawn to the mission and community of Ohio Living Llanfair,” she shared. “With others from my congregation, I volunteered for activities like holiday meals and resident visits. It was a joy to simply spend time with the people who make Ohio Living Llanfair such a special place.”
Before entering ordained ministry, Rev. White spent 25 years in finance and accounting roles at Procter & Gamble’s headquarters in Cincinnati, where she developed a keen understanding of financial integrity and organizational leadership. In addition to her financial expertise, she brings decades of pastoral experience. Ordained in 2002, she has served congregations throughout the greater Cincinnati Presbytery, from Aurora, Indiana to West Chester, Ohio. She was also trained as a transitional pastor to help churches navigate change and renewal.
“I’ve been blessed to serve small congregations that couldn’t otherwise afford a full-time pastor,” Chris reflected. “It’s been a gift to walk with them through seasons of challenge and transformation.” Though she formally retired in 2015, she jokes about having “failed at retirement,” continuing to serve several churches on a temporary basis.
Outside of ministry, Chris finds joy in travel and life’s simple pleasures. “As soon as I cross a place off my bucket list, at least two more get added,” she said. “I suppose that’s just part of who I am. Always learning, always exploring…and always grateful for the journey.”
