December 2025 Resident Spotlight: Margaret Jedinak

Margaret Jedinak grew up on a farm along the Jump River in northern Wisconsin, where daily life blended hard work with outdoor adventure. She met her late husband, Ed, through a mutual friend while they were both working in Milwaukee after college. At the time, Ed was working with the U.S. Department of Justice, and she with a private educational association.

Ed’s career soon guided them to new cities and new chapters, including Washington, D.C., Manhattan and eventually, back to Milwaukee. A few years later, they settled into a home they built in suburban Delafield, Wisconsin. Married for 55 years, they raised three daughters: Lee Ann, who now lives near Seattle; Pam in San Diego; and Peggy, in nearby Monroe, Ohio.

Professionally, Margaret spent 20 years with the Aging and Disability Resource Center in her county, work that allowed her to support and advocate for older adults. Her community commitments extended beyond her career as well. Notably, she volunteered as a Meals on Wheels driver and was involved in several church and civic organizations.

Travel was a meaningful part of life for Margaret and Ed. While they enjoyed visiting other countries, they especially loved exploring off-the-beaten-path destinations across the United States. Their trips often included leisurely drives along two-lane roads, visits to Civil War battlefields, tours of state capitols and cheering at major league baseball stadiums. Music was also a family passion, and they attended countless band concerts and outdoor festivals together.

After Ed’s passing, Margaret began exploring retirement communities near each of her daughters. After visiting and comparing options, she chose Ohio Living Mount Pleasant.

“Moving here has opened a new world of experiences and friendships,” Margaret explained. “It’s fun getting to know people and their stories. I am grateful I found a new home at Ohio Living Mount Pleasant.”
