Jessi leads a team that supports residents in a more advanced stage of dementia as the clinical coordinator of the North neighborhood at Ohio Living Ganzhorn Suites. In this role, she manages staff, oversees resident care and stays closely connected with families during some of the most important moments in their journey. Jessi joined the team nearly four years ago and stepped into her current role in September 2022.
“You’re going to feel overwhelmed and anxious at first, but don’t get discouraged," Jessi encouraged. "With time, it will become much easier. The rewarding aspects of healthcare, being there for people and making a difference, will begin to outweigh the challenges. What feels overwhelming today will one day become the strength that helps you care for others tomorrow.”
Jessi's days are often spent checking in on residents and making sure families feel informed and reassured every step of the way.
"Even years later, some of them still reach out to thank me and the staff for everything we did for their loved ones," shared Jessi. “Knowing the care and support we gave them in such a difficult time left that kind of lasting impression is truly amazing and humbling."
Jessi enjoys an active life in downtown Columbus with her girlfriend and their two dogs, Lennon and Leo. She has also taken in four stray cats. When she has time to unwind, she gravitates toward kayaking and enjoys playing kickball with Stonewall Sports. She never misses a chance to cheer on the Buckeyes!
