Resident Spotlight: Margie Frazier

We’re delighted to feature Ohio Living Westminster-Thurber resident Margie Frazier in September’s resident spotlight. Margie grew up on a farm north of Newark, Ohio, and spent most of her adult life in Columbus. She and her husband Dave, who she describes as a daily source of laughter, share a close family that includes two stepsons and four grandchildren.

Margie dedicated over 40 years to social work, holding leadership roles in clinical mental health, state government and non-profit organizations. One of her most meaningful positions involved supporting families of children affected by Batten disease, a rare and life-limiting genetic disorder. The role provided Margie the opportunity to travel extensively, which she loved. This work took her across the globe and allowed her to make a lasting impact on families worldwide.

Today in retirement, Margie loves spending time with friends and taking watercolor painting classes online from London.

When asked what she loves about living at Ohio Living Westminster-Thurber, Margie said, “I love the people, including my neighbors and staff. Each day I look forward to pleasant exchanges, making for wonderful ‘social snacks.’ It is so fun getting to know everyone’s stories.”

She also added, “Being here even earlier than we anticipated has been a great move for us. It’s opened whole new avenues of experiences, friendships and learning. We are grateful.”
